I’ve been using this amazing tool since 2013, and is a great way to use proxy services; without breaking your bank using a professional solution or hefty server. If anybody is using legacy mode—Which is necessary if you are using a separate VPN on iOS/iPadOS or have a device policy that prevents the aforementioned—you will need to do the following (in order) before ‘Weblocking’ will work:Enter the automatic URL or manual IP+port in ‘HTTP PROXY - Configure Proxy’ Settings, (no authentication is required)>Turn ‘Wi-Fi’ off>Open ‘App Switcher’>Quit all apps>Turn ‘Wi-Fi’ on.This is necessary for some apps and your wireless card to perform a new TCP/IP handshake with the proxy server. If the previous steps didn’t work, perform the following steps (in order): Ensure the URL or IP/port info is entered correctly>Copy/Paste if necessary>Turn ‘Wi-Fi’ off>Turn ‘Airplane-Mode’ on>Open App Switcher>Quit all apps>Perform a ‘Force Restart.’-..v(shown below)v..On new iPhones (running iOS 15 and greater): Press the ‘volume-up’ and release quickly>Press the ‘volume-down’ button and release quickly>Press both the ‘volume-down’ + ‘power’ button at the same time and hold>While holding, power off the device>Once the ‘Apple Logo’ appears, let go of the buttons>Once screen is completely black, power-on phone.*(For older or different iPhones, search for “Force restart iPhone” on a search engine or Apples support website)*

  • GREAT customer support:

LOVE this app!!! Now I can read the New York Times without zillions of ads. It might take some fine tuning because one may not be able to access Instagram at first etc. for instance, but customer service is outstanding and for Instagram access I learned I just couldn't block Facebook. There are SO many choices (really creepy if you wrap your head around it) to pick to block that one can get too greedy. An Apple service agent even told me once that sometimes a site you are trying to access may see that you are blocking ads and the site itself will slow things down, but I no longer have any problems after fine tuning. Apple guy reminded me that ads were the bread and butter with companies. So that being the case, it is just probably a good idea not to block everything. With almost immediate Weblock support and expert advice and instruction I fine tuned this app perfectly for me. I love it and enjoy the low volume of ads etc. My web viewing is more Zen like now without someone out there trying to make all my money their money with a constant onslaught of ads. I don't have enough money to give it all away! If you feel similarly, I highly suggest getting Weblock!

  • Does Not Play Well With IOS9

I've been using Weblock for years now. It worked great! Would have been an easy 5-star review! That is until IOS9. Searched long and hard for a good ad blocking app and stumbled upon Weblock. I was skeptical at first but decided to give it a shot. It worked flawlessly. I couldn't have been happier. Fast forward to the IOS9 update and now, apps that previously worked fine are forever stuck in an ifinite "loading" loop. Specifically, apps with pre-launch/ pre-rolling ads. Even apps with top/ bottom banners that appear periodically. The minute I disable Weblock or turn off WiFi altogether and go off of cellular data alone, everything works perfectly. (Albeit with the annoying ads I set off to kill with Weblock in the first place). I've done everything you can imagine, from uninstalling/ re-installing each individual app, to reconfiguring Weblock per the configuration setup tutorial, to resetting network settings, to "forgetting" my WiFi network and reconnecting (then reconfiguring Weblock, of course), to hard resets of my iPhone.... You name it, I've tried it. Nothing works. Not sure if a "bug fix" is in the works in the near future from Weblock, but I will definitely be seeking an ad blocking app elsewhere now.

  • Does Not Block Ads, No Response From FutureMind

This app did not block any ads when used on iPad or iPhone, connected to Wi-Fi as required in its description. The app description in iTunes requests sending an email to the company before leaving a bad review when there is a problem. I sent two emails a week apart but got no response to either. I wish it functioned as advertised, and I also wish Apple would allow the developer to change this and create the extension in Safari on iOS, like AdBlock Plus extension in Safari on a Mac, so that the use of a proxy server would not be necessary.I followed the app's prescribed setup instructions exactly, to the point where it changed the in-app setup checklist items from a red color to green. The directions also suggest closing all apps. I closed all apps completely and even turned my iOS device off and on.I used Safari and other apps but still had ads, compared to the same site on my iMac that doesn't have ads in Safari because of a working AdBlock Plus extension. I Googled for an online ad block test, and the results of the scan were a fail. This does not block ads, even when setup and when on the Wi-Fi network where it should filter or block ads.

  • Nerd-level language, Nerd-Level Control

This app is great at doing what it says it will. There are certain apps that, despite my loathing for ad-ridden app trash, I will use from time-to-time. This makes them loads more usable. It's also a great web filter. iOS restrictions are nice, but if you're a parent that wants to restrict access to any website, for disciplinary reasons or for filtering reasons, this is great at allowing you a specialized blacklist, or disabling Facebook content using a shared proxy. That being said-if you're reading this review and you don't know what "blacklist" and "shared proxy" mean, then it's going to require a little bit of extra reading and/or app support to make use of those features. It would be great if there was more accessible language used in some circumstances or at least an explanation of terminology to someone without as much tech knowledge. It would widen the customer base, and allow the app to be cross-marketed more effectively to parents and the less tech-savvy.

  • An ad blocker that works!!!!

    Fang333333

Very satisfied!!! I've never seen an ad blocker this powerful honestly. I really want to give it a 4.5 star but it won't let me. The .5 star deduction is because once in awhile I do get redirected or have a pop up but all I do is add the website to my blocked sites and it's gone forever. Again this is really really powerful and worth every cent. As of right now it fixed a major issue I had where I would be redirected to a website/pop up saying "YOUR IOS SOFTWARE IS INFECTED, CALL ...." I would be stuck on the website unable do do anything unless I deleted my cookies and browser history. This app fixed that for me! I also need to figure out how to get a certain website I visit to work while having this app on. Because the video stream site depends on ads I can't access the video. I'm sure I can fix this somehow but I haven't figured it out. Anyway 4.5 stars! Thanks
