Cute and simple
I like the app it’s the very basics and that exactly what I wanted something simple and fun to just manage my weight goals. Other apps try to up sell you on all kinds of other stuff like meal plans, workout etc...
Only complaint which seems to be the common trend is the avatar, that’s what attracted me to the app. It would be nice to change her actual look. Since I’m not a white brunette lady. Hopefully the update will allow a more personalized Avatar the body changes are fun to see.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for your valuable feedback.
As we mentioned in the description on the App Store, we have already started working on adding new avatars and skin tone options.
We have finished drawing new male avatars, and the new avatar system is currently in the testing stage. Now we are just working on finishing the new female avatars, and hopefully we'll be able to show them soon!
We really want to keep every single user motivated through the use of our avatars, so we have been a bit picky about the perfecting the new avatars' design, and it has taken a bit more time than expected (we feel really sorry for keeping you waiting). However, we are sure to bring you exactly what you need in the future update, so thanks again for using our app! We hope our app will be helpful during your weight loss journey. Please stay tuned!
Easy to use, ridiculous avatars.
Pros: easy to use, free, simple layout
Cons: So whoever designed the avatars was probably using free clip art, and they’re the most insensitive (hilarious to me but I can see how they would be horrible for anyone with serious weight issues) things ever. I’m slightly overweight. What’s my avatar? A huge woman EATING A CHEESEBURGER. I showed people at work and everyone started downloading it and putting in different weights to see the pictures. The fat dude in a speedo with a drink? Super fat dude with a turkey leg? The woman whose boobs seem to have turned into two extra people? Ridiculous. Underweight? Struggling with an eating disorder? Your avatar is a skeleton holding balloons. I give it four stars for the actual app, minus one for the avatars.
So I thought this would be fun with the changing avatar, I was wrong. I’m at 305 at the moment and when I put my weight in I got an avatar of a big gal with what looked like two other avatars of the same gal for her boobs. At first I laughed cause I thought this was a glitch, but after tinkering with the weight to see what the other avatars are I see that anything over 175 gets you this big gal avatar. The higher your weight, they add another slightly smaller avatar to show you’re the weight of multiple people. Honestly I feel that’s a pretty poor choice for trying to motivate someone struggling to lose weight. It might work for some, but I don’t know anyone that would want that.
Developer Response ,
Thank you for using our app, we really appreciate your feedback.
We understand how you feel though, and we want to apologize for being the cause of any negative feelings. We want all of our users to be comfortable and always feel motivated while they're using Weight Loss, and we are really sorry our avatars were a source of any discouragement.
We're currently working hard to both renew existing avatars and add new avatars in the future, and we will make a point to correct the image you mentioned to something more suitable in the upcoming version: 1.4.14. Please stay tuned!
