What Color Is This‪?‬ 4+

Never buy this app. I read the reviews and assumed they would be wrong until I got it. First of all I got it to see what color my scrunchie was but when I scanned it assuming for a color like gold or tan I got RED😡 I went into natural lighting to see if that would effect the color but no it just said green that time.👿👿😠 then I scanned a piece of paper because how could it mess that up and it did😠😡. It said brown. If you don’t listen to me and get this app then be prepared for it to be wrong and in order to get “better” results you must pay 2$😠🆗sorry😯😕

Here are some mistakes: Pure red is called “Deep orange”, pure green is called “Light green”, and pure blue is called “Indigo”. What should be Orange is called Amber, what should be spring green is called Teal, real teal that leans slightly towards blue is called Cyan, magenta is called Purple, tan is called orange, some shades of gray (around #E8E8E8) are called brown, dark yellow is called brown, lime, or light green, maroon is called pink or brown, dark purple is called brown, light cyan is called teal, very light cyan is called light blue, different shades of dark amber are sometimes called red or lime, salmon is called deep orange, in other words many of the colors are named inaccurately.

The only two of the 6 main computer monitor colors (red yellow green cyan blue magenta) that says the right thing are Yellow and Cyan.)

I like this app for what it is trying to do, and I find it gets in the ballpark but is not spot on. I think the device camera, lighting (color temperature of bulbs) and display (true tone or not) are variables that must be just right in order to get close to the color being captured, or approximated.

I did purchase the extended color sets, which are nice to have.

One suggestion I have is for the Search / color picker mode: provide an option to change the background color from white to black (or also grey)... when color matching to a real world sample using a light emitting screen, white light can visually bias the comparison.
