See exactly how much time you spend on every site you visit. Web Insights records domains - never URLs - and reports back to your WhatPulse desktop app. Where does your time online actually go? WhatPulse Web Insights is the official Safari companion to WhatPulse, the desktop activity tracker used by hundreds of thousands of people to measure how they really use their computers. The extension extends WhatPulse from "which apps you used" to "which sites you visited" — and presents both side by side in your WhatPulse dashboard. WHAT IT TRACKS • Time spent active on each website • Keystrokes, clicks, scrolling, and mouse activity per site • Aggregated by domain — example.com, not example.com/whatever/page WHAT IT DOES NOT TRACK • No full URLs. Ever. • No page content, form data, or anything you type into pages • Nothing in Private Browsing windows • Nothing while the WhatPulse desktop app is paused or not running • Your website stats stay private — they're never shown publicly on your WhatPulse profile HOW IT WORKS The extension talks to the WhatPulse desktop app running on your Mac over a local connection (loopback only — your data never goes to a third-party server through this extension). The desktop app handles aggregation and syncs encrypted summaries to your WhatPulse account if you choose. Without the desktop app running, the extension simply records nothing. REQUIREMENTS • macOS 13.3 or later • Safari 16.4 or later • The WhatPulse desktop app (download at whatpulse.org) GETTING STARTED 1. Install this app from the Mac App Store. 2. Launch it once — it'll guide you through enabling the extension in Safari → Settings → Extensions. 3. Make sure WhatPulse desktop is running. 4. Approve the pairing request that appears in WhatPulse. 5. Browse normally. Open WhatPulse to see where your hours actually went. WHAT'S WHATPULSE?
