* The "When Can I Retire Pro" app calculates your retirement age by separating out your retirement savings in taxable accounts (cash, investments) and tax-advantaged accounts (Traditional, Roth) as certain tax-advantaged retirement savings cannot be withdrawn without a penalty until you reach the age 59 1/2.

* The app factors in the retirement age calculation the taxes you are required to pay on withdrawals from your tax-deferred accounts (Traditional 401k, Traditional IRA).

* The app takes into account you are required to make minimum withdrawals from your tax-deferred accounts (Traditional 401k, Traditional IRA) from the age of 72 onwards.

Very helpful App...

Straightforward and easy to use. I’d like to see other sources of retirement income included like pension and real estate income. I’d also like to see a little better documentation around savings and 401k contributions. I’m assuming they stop at retirement age, but it wasn’t clear to me (unless I just missed it). An auto fill on Social Security would be helpful since it gives you the full retirement Calc anyway. Plus, I didn’t see a place to add spousal information. Just some thoughts...But overall, very good.

Thanks for your feedback. The new version 2.0 supports other sources of retirement income such as pension and real estate. The help documentation (question mark icon below the inputs) has been updated as well. The retirement contributions stop once you reach the retirement age. We have released a new app "When Can We Retire" that lets you enter the spousal information and calculates when you and your spouse will be able to retire together. Please check out the new app.

Great app

Previously I did not give a 5 star as I felt the app was missing a very useful feature and that was to save the inputted information so that you did not have to renter in. Well one month later the developer was kind enough to accept the suggestion and deliver. As such I feel the app has now meet the 5 star bar. App is awesome as it covers all the various scenario required to make a solid retirement estimator. I have review nearly all of the calculators for mobile and this by far is the best.
