What’s better than 100 cats in your house? Whirlycat in your pocket!
Whirly the cat has his paws on the top-secret GW-70 Helicopter prototype and is hiding out deep in the woods! This crazy cat needs your piloting skill to carry out his “Whirly Domination” plan for snagging bones from the Mountain Rescue Dog team.
Take off with him from his tower base and fly up the mountain to fish for bones using a lasso made from frayed sweater yarn. Also help him snag more sweaters and fuel from unattended camp sites along the way.
But Beware! The Mountain Rescue Dog team has been alerted to his antics and are on the lookout! Also, the mountain catnip is in full bloom! So Whirly may be in for a real challenge!
To start the game press the '>' (play) button in the upper right hand corner.
To help Whirly Fly, hold your device like a steering wheel. Then tilt it in the direction you want to go. Tilt the top forward to go up, and backwards to go down. If you prefer it to do it in the opposite way, you can change that in settings. You can display settings by pressing the ‘gear’ button near the upper right hand corner of the screen when the game is paused.
Whirly’s flight continues until he runs out of fuel, then the game is over. Monitor the fuel gauge at the top center of the screen and make sure he has enough fuel to get to the next campsite.
Whirly can snag bones, more fuel, and sweaters only if he has sweaters to fray for yarn and make his lasso. Dragging the lasso on the ground can cause it to break off. The lasso can also snag rocks if they are hit too hard. Whirly then must fly away from the rock to break the lasso off before he can make a new one.
Monitor his stack of sweaters at the top left of the screen. If Whirly runs out of sweaters, you must guide him to a campsite and help him ’buzz” sweaters, which will blow them into the air. Whirly can then catch sweaters if he is able to reach them from the cockpit. If the sweaters hit the ground, they are lost. Mountain rescue dogs defend their bones by biting off Whirly’s lasso. And the dogs can jump!
Whirlycat also has a neat "Tilt-o-Meter" that helps you fly from nearly any position. To show this meter, press the “Stop Light” button near the top-right corner of the screen. When the meter appears, you can find the resting position by tilting your device until the stop light is green and lines up in the middle of the meter. You can also change the resting position by holding the device how you like, then pressing the up/down arrows button. Then just start the game by pressing either the check button in the meter, or the '>' (start) button and off you go!
When you start the game the "Tilt-o-Meter" will automatically disappear.
You can track your scores in settings by entering your name in the text field. Tap on Whirly’s face to see the list of players.
You can see high scores by tapping on the bone next to the text field.
Games can be restarted also from settings. Press the restart button in the upper right hand corner, then confirm.
