I noticed I starting having issues with this app Summer 2025 after maybe 1-2 years of having it. I was able to help talk to quite a few people who were struggling and just needed to talk. Ever since last summer, I have tried to fix the issues myself on my iPhone and iPad, nothing. Error message saying it’s a server issue. Tried contacting White Flag on Instagram, email, their app, anywhere and have received ZERO responses on the issue. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and still nothing, still a server issue.This WAS a good app when I first started using it but now I’m beyond disappointed of the lack of customer service with these IT issues.If White Flag has a solution they’d like to tell me to fix this error, contact me. I’ve sent plenty of messages and emails to you on the issue that you can find.
I love the idea of this app but it’s very overwhelming to log in and the first thing you see is a list of white flags raised and people needing help. I don’t recommend that being the front page. Can I please make a suggestion to the creator? Please consider making a front page that displays hope? Maybe a positive quote of the day? That starts the user on a positive note instead of a negative one. Then have the “flag raised” be a button we click on to connect with others? As a first time user, logging in and the first thing I see is a list of other people who are desperate and defeated made it feel like an app of hopelessness. Before checking this app out, I recommended it to a friend based on description alone. As soon as I downloaded the app and checked it out, I instantly regretted my recommendation because I know that if my friend were to log into this app, they would feel hopeless. It just looks like a bunch of hopeless people. I HATE giving this review and I don’t mean any harm by it at all. Please hear what I’m actually trying to say. It’s a phenomenal concept. But maybe needs some tweaking. And I would suggest a section where a person can add a small description about their hobbies or things they used to like. Other things that represent them other than just their issues. Of course, I understand that this is a place for asking for help and offering support but that doesn’t mean it should just be negative. The entire app just has a negative feel to it.

In regards to the option for hobbies, interests, etc., every profile has a "my story" where users can put as much as they would like about their history, story, interests, passions and background. In fact, if someone uses the words "music" or "crafting" in their story, when someone uses the search feature for "music" or "crafting", that user would populate as well! We appreciate the feedback on the home page user experience! One thing to note is that we don't initially lower flags for our users after they receive a response. Users decide when it's time to lower their flag. This is important to know, because while many users may currently display a flag, many have been helped already! We appreciate the concern for avoid overwhelm and this information will be provided to our development team. We will continue to find ways to include hope and positivity while still prioritizing those who struggle.
I absolutely love the idea of this app. Getting to talk to people who get exactly what you’re going through because they’ve been there themselves is such an amazing tool. The ONLY reason why I gave it 4 stars is because I think there could be some updates/changes to the app that could help.. such as an indication when people are typing (I’m a longer message type of person, so sometimes I feel like the other person in waiting on me to respond, and I’d like them to know I’m seeing them while I type everything out). I’ve also had a few issues where I responded to someone, and then a while later I’d go back to see if I missed a message from them and it wouldn’t show that I had sent a message.. just little things like that. But overall this is an amazing app and such a useful tool to help each other out!!

I absolutely LOVE this app! Not only can I help others in need but I can also receive help when I need it! This app actually pairs you with people who are going through similar things as you are and I LOVE that! I actually feel like I have a support system outside of my husband. I feel like I can really connect with people and even turn these experiences into friendships! I also love how the app is a message only app so you don’t have to have fear if a person will try to call you on the app or anything and it’s amazing for my social anxiety. You also cannot send or receive pictures so you don’t have to worry about getting unsolicited pictures. It’s honestly and amazing app and I will forever be using it and recommending it!
When I heard about white flag I was immediately drawn. As a person who has struggled with depression and anxiety my entire life, I am constantly seeking outlets to help. When I downloaded the app and filled in all the information my curiosity peaked and I began exploring the app. Ugh, my heart broke as I saw all these people waving their white flags in hopes of someone seeing them and being willing to connect. I reached out to a few people and had amazing conversation with people who were struggling…the conversations were deep and raw. I realized that by simply listening, relating to their struggles, and giving them a judgement free safe space, not only did they leave feeling heard and connected, but I too was lifted.

Initially this app is really great and the concept is amazing, sometimes it’s definitely better to talk to someone going through something similar who gets it. However the one thing that’s bothering me is that anytime I close the app it logs me out and makes me log back in EVERY TIME. I’ve tried reporting it but there’s no one to actually talk to and contact for support and help for the app. I also think there should be more options for reporting people, I have encountered some pretty rude people on here. Besides that, it’s a great app!

As for reporting, this function exists within the app and we have a team that monitors the incoming reports, assesses the situation, and then communicates and takes action.
