Control you entire model railroad from any iOS phone or tablet in this simple to use yet feature rich app! The M.T.H. Digital Command System (DCS) is the most comprehensive and innovative model train control system available. While, at the same time, the easiest to set up and use! You’ll be running your trains in just a few minutes after installing the Wi-Fi DCS app and connecting to any one of several M.T.H. DCS track interface units.

The DCS system is capable of running conventional AC or DC powered model trains utilizing track power controls as well as the ultimate experience of full featured MTH ProtoSound 2.0 or 3.0 and Atlas O® ProtoSound 3.0 locomotives. In addition, DCS is the only cross-platform model railroad control system. When cabled to a Lionel® command base DCS also runs TMCC® and Legacy® engines all within the same app, on the same track, at the same time!! No other system has this capability.

The DCS app is compatible with our entry level system, the DCS Explorer for those just starting their journey into model railroading. For more advanced users, the DCS Wi-Fi Interface Unit (WIU) in combination with the Track Interface Unit (TIU) or, the all new Wi-Fi Track Interface Unit (WTIU) opens up the vast array of features available within the world of DCS. Run multiple trains simultaneously on the same track, control switches and accessories, and immerse yourself in the depth of sound and control features that is Wi-Fi DCS.

Great App

I had little trouble upgrading my old TIU to the latest version and connecting and running the WiFi unit. Make certain you upgrade to the "standard" version and are using the latest version of the app. We had no problem controling 5 trains and no network issues, once we upgraded to the newest version. Being able to control our trains with an easy to use iPad interface (versus the DCS remote) REALLY increased my kids interest in model railroading, even if it offends the purists. You can have multiple devices (for us- an iphone and two iPads) controlling different trains simultaneous on the same layout (beats buying multiple DCS remotes). Can't wait for the enhanced version so we can also control accessories and switches.

Wonderful app. Nothing is perfect, but ALL MTH functions flawlessly. Those Lionel command engines also do well. Why complain? If you are stuck on Legacy equipment, then use Lionel’s programming.
I am having so much fun running my system on an iPad. Great interface. Good response. Full features.
If you want to have great control, and a heck of a lot of fun, take the plunge. As a former Lionel postwar collector and MTH fan, quit complaining. If it doesn’t meet your expectations, then either you are doing something wrong or you need to get a component replaced.
Well done, MTH. The late great Barry Broskowitz “WiFi DCS Companion, 2nd edition “ is indispensable, and will contain more information and practical solutions than most will ever need to enjoy MTH WiFi DCS. Can’t wait for the WTIU to arrive. It supposedly has improved features.

I downloaded the app for my WTIU and it has been a breeze to learn. The interface is simple. Great job!
