The Spies finally have a great app! I’m excited! If you’re a wine enthusiast that’s looking for a trusted source of the best wines, you should seriously consider Wine Spies. I’ve been a customer for more than a decade and have developed a personal relationship with the team there. The few issues I’ve had (UPS lost packages) have always been handled with grace and speed. Wine Spies has the best prices on hard to find wines and they have a team that really cares about their customers. In an era when wine companies (somm select, winc) come and go, Wine Spies has staying power! Did I mention their fill-as-you-go Locker feature? They store my purchases for me until I’m ready to have them shipped - for free!
Simply the BEST way to learn about and buy wine
It’s so nice because you can read about so many different types of wines out there. Then decide to order as many or a few as you’d like. my wife and I have been using Wine Spies for several months now and haven’t found a bottle we didn’t love. Probably the biggest drawback is once you find one you love, it’s not always easy to find more.
Much improved over previous versions.
The developers listened and made sure the app now has the same information as the website. There’s still some notable usability differences between the web/mobile sites and the app that I don’t like. The checkout process is different and it took me a while to understand how to change quantities of wine in my cart. I don’t know what advantage was gained by not mimicking the website cart process more closely.
But that’s a minor nitpick.
