The antidote to information overload. Winno is the best and most efficient way to stay on top of important news. No clickbait.

Our team covers U.S.-focused ongoing and breaking news stories live and posts just the facts. The important updates that matter, as they happen.

News is broken. What important things happened today? This question shouldn’t be hard to answer in the 21st century, but it is. We're spoon-fed junk. We scroll mindlessly through feeds of endless content, filtered through algorithms, where the line between fact and opinion is blurred. No flow, no structure, no chronology. Just a bunch of unfocused noise and shrill voices.

Not anymore. We’re rebuilding news from the ground up, for the internet era.

Winno is an app where you can get all the important updates to a story in one place, live. We post the updates themselves – the facts – instead of links generated by algorithms. All curated, written and fact-checked by humans. We give you everything you need to know, without the waste and without the noise.

• Live coverage – Our team creates a “feed” for ongoing or breaking news stories. One resource for all the latest, best information.

• Just the facts – We post updates to the story, live. As short summaries, quotes, tweets, images, etc. Each with a link to read more.

• Get notifications – Follow feeds to keep track of new updates and get notifications for important developments. Customizable settings.

• Background info – We provide FAQs for each feed to give you relevant background and context. You can submit questions to our team.

We are committed to building a humane, attention-friendly experience. Our goal is to create a healthy product that people love, and we will ensure that our incentives as a business are always aligned with that goal.

The future of news!

I love Winno. I love everything about it. I don’t think I realized just how broken the media is until I tried this app out. It is SO much better than your standard news feed. For one thing, there’s no unnecessary junk about celebrities and whatever. You can actually choose what topics you’re interested in so it’s easier to stay up to date about the important stuff and ignore what you don’t. It’s easy to scroll through your update feed to see all of the news you missed, instead of having it update and have all of the articles constantly vanish every few minutes. I like the new feature that lets you see all your new updates at once, although I think it could be better if the updates were sorted chronologically regardless of what topic they are (right now they’re all separated by the topic). I especially appreciate that the service is free (or at least, for now — but I would be 100% willing to pay for a subscription if one were to exist). There’s no bias in the headlines, all of them get straight to the point. Everyone should be using this app, I can’t imagine trying to keep up with the news without it 🙏

Slight edit: One reviewer claimed that this app is an invasion of privacy... because you have to sign up for an account? Huh?? You mean like every other app out there? Anyways, if you aren’t thrilled by the idea for signing up for a (COMPLETELY FREE) account you can always use Sign In with Apple to prevent any possible data exchange. Just my thoughts.

The future of news is here!

I absolutely LOVE this app! I have never enjoyed watching the news, and reading it online had always been way too long and way too biased. But this app just brings all of the important information I need into one, convenient place! I have been so out of the loop when it comes to the happenings in the world, but now I have such ease of access to it all, I’ll never be behind again! The only two things that I feel the app is missing are: notifications and more categories. I wish I could have a pop-up notification every time something new was posted in the categories that I follow. Along with that, I wish there were more categories, like local areas’ news, and specific happening in certain careers like teachers or police, and other things like that. Either way, I LOVE this app, and cannot wait to keep using it.

Excellent, with some issues

I absolutely love Winno, and I don’t know how else to say it. This is the best news app I’ve ever used. Headlines are, as promised, completely neutral, no bias or opinion thrown in. I love that I can look at headlines and be filled in on the news in minutes without having to worry about sway. I use Winno, along with some other apps, to make timelines, and I have to say it’s the best because it is already in timeline form and I can go back so far! The layout is intuitive and clean. I’ve never had problems with it other than notifications lagging a bit. My one request is for a widget! I’d love to see the Winno updates on the side of my home screen. Overall, this is undoubtedly the best way to get news. If Winno had more than the special selection of coverage and did regular daily updates, I probably wouldn’t use any other app.
Thank you Winno!
EDIT: my feed often skips days, even when I refresh. I have to open and close the app multiple times, otherwise I am subject to issues like seeing the feed jump from 8 days ago to 13 hours ago, or similar timeframes. I also really would love dates on the postings instead of days ago. As I go back especially far, like 20+ days, it gets hard to keep track.
