    We loved our food tour with Lisa. She was very friendly and informative of the local restaurants, culture and dishes. There were 6 in our group, including a 1 year old baby. Lisa introduced us to food and restaurants that we never would have found on our own. She was patient in answering our questions and we learned a lot about the local vendors and traditional dishes from a variety of the cultures in the area. Our group would highly recommend Lisa and this tour.

Not only did Gabriele provide us with delightful food selections, his knowledge of the city and history was extensive and fun. He also went out of his way to address our requests, spending extra time with us as we purchased gifts to send home. If you are considering a food tour of Rome, please select Gabriele as your guide for a truly memorable experience!

    This is now the second city we have used Withlocals and my wife and I love the App and the guides. Professional service with email confirmations to leave nothing to chance and clarification on the meeting point if needed. However all of the meeting points have been very easy to find but sometimes in a new city you have questions and they have been very good to deal with. The guides are fantastic, they know the area and in depth history and knowledge is very much appreciated.

  • Nice app but where is the support?

    A nice app for finding an booking a tour, but now I can’t login and can’t find any support links through the app or website. Only a chatbot that apologized for not being able to help. Since the only way to communicate with host is through the app, I now can’t send a message. You should be able to reply to email to respond to messages. And there should be support for login issues. In this situation I am using Sign in with Apple. So I don’t know if it is an Apple or withlocals problem, but effect is the same.

  • Chat doesn’t work right on my iPad

    I am very frustrated trying to chat with local guides after booking a tour. When I try to chat to relay important information to my local guide the keyboard comes up as it should but then the text box is covered by the keyboard and I can’t see what I have typed. Thus my message is a total mess and full of typos. I tried writing a message in ‘notes’ and copying and pasting into the chat box but I couldn’t make that work either. I love the idea of Withlocals and have used it but the difficulty in communications will discourage me from using the app in the future

    Hi Pete, Oh no, that's definitely not how our chat is supposed to work on your iPad!Thanks a bunch for sharing your feedback so we could go on to fix it straight away.Our development team is currently working on finding a fitting solution to this issue. We noticed the issue only occurs on certain types of iPads, which also makes it a bit more complex to fix, but we're on it!In the meantime, i'd strongly suggest to keep in touch with your host via the app on your mobile phone if possible.If it's not possible, please let me know via developers@withlocals.com - I'm sure I can find another solution so you can easily chat with your local hosts again while we are bugfixing! :)Cheers,Ikram

  • Best app when arriving in a new city!

    There’s no better way to see a new and unfamiliar city than through the eyes of a local. I’ve used With Locals all around Asia, and the people I’ve met never disappoint. The food tours are a particularly delicious way to interact with the local culture, and the guides have taken me to places I never would have found on my own. I can’t wait to explore more cities with the help of WL!
