The "7 Minute Workout" is super simple and very effective and based on published research in sports science journal ACSM, and then popularized by the NYT.

12 selected exercises that last 30 seconds, with a short 10 second rest in between. This high-intensity training with little rest results in higher daily metabolism and is the equivalent of working out for over an hour - for only slightly longer than 7 minutes, all made clear with video, audio and text demonstrated by a certified personal trainer.

So this app is overall very good. It gives you the Original 7 Minute Workout published by Jordan and Kilka and gives you additional routines which are 'supercharged'. They use Compunding to work different areas of the body and this yield superior result to the full body workout because you're allowing muscles to rest and recover. There's now outdoor steadystate exercises (running etc.) simply workouts that use bodyweights. The Cardio routines are fine, but a bit repetitive and restricted to a limited number exercises. There's only so many jumping jacks you can do! That said, Cardio is only in there once or twice per week depending on where you are and how often you work out. UI, is sometimes a bit clunky and needs tidying up. The science is well explained and makes sense. I gather there's an update on the way with more exercise routines which will help. Overall, it is better value than some of the competitors and there's no subscriptions which is a bonus. So far there's no IAPs either but you know that's coming!!! I'd recommend with 4 stars.

A great experience

I've used this app with weights as well as the way it suggests, and it's fine. Some of the exercises, push ups with rotation are kind of awkward, but you get used to them, and overall this is a decent value app. I'm sure you can get other apps for free that then try and upsell you, but this doesn't. The idea is you work to unlock new exercises, and that really appeals to me - adding variety as my reward for hard work! I've been part of the beta test group on the upcoming update. You can apply to be part of the testing for new updates through the facebook group, which is nice as you get the updates first and can give feedback. The test group is all women, so the devs are good and listen to you and can shape the app. The new 'keep the flame alive' part is great, as you know when you're last workout has stopped having an effect, as well as how much work you've actually done! It does ask for a few personal details to calculate this, but that's ok, as I want it to be accurate and reflect the level of exercise I've put in. If this app keeps improving, I'm going to be really pleased to have the kind of app I want to workout with.

Overload, Adapt, Repeat. and Recover

I have been looking for a workout app that is serious about self health and fitness, user friendly, visually tracks progress and is fun to use. Well, this is without a doubt the BEST result driven workout app in the AppStore. Everyone has 7 minutes in a day to devote to this program. They are clear and up front about how they will get you into the best shape of your life through Core Strengthening, Upper Body and Cardio exercises. It’s clear you will have to push yourself to the max during the 7 minute workout but results will become more noticeable as time progresses and your workouts progress. Eventually you will graduate into the Supercharged workouts to see even better results and to keep you in shape long term. Wonder 7 takes all the guess work out of which exercise routine needed to be done because each day you will perform approximately 10-12 different exercises each day. Another nice feature is each exercise has a video showing it done correctly. If you are looking for a no nonsense, result driven workout app, this is it.
