Good Start

Relaxing and still challenging. Would like to see a better way for found words to disappear vs having to erase or find additional words with them.

Thank you so much for your amazing review, it’s very much appreciated! I’m taking in each and every piece of feedback and I will constantly improve Wordsmyth to make it the best it can be for everybody. I will be looking into options to allow you to remove completed words faster within the near future, so stay tuned!

Great game play let down by poor dictionary

I love the way this game plays, but any word search game lives and dies by its dictionary. This one isn’t very good. It doesn’t recognize obvious words like “raping,” yet it does include many that I find nowhere else. I completely solved a recent game by brute force. The 38 “words” in the solution included: sri sris dit dits sics siti cist cris strid irids sitis disci cists. More than a third of the solution does not appear in my dictionary, and this seems typical. (Dealing with autocorrect while writing this review is an exercise in frustration.) Ultimately this means the only way to completely solve any puzzle is by brute force, which really kills the fun.

Edit: Interestingly, I have been looking into this today and all the words you mentioned (bar the excluded offensive word) all appear in the official Scrabble dictionary. That doesn't necessarily mean this is the best dictionary to use in the case of Wordsmyth, as you say its not as fun to have to trudge through the last few words to complete a day.

Thank you for your review, and I’m glad you enjoyed the game despite the issues with the dictionary. For obvious reasons, I removed words that could offend from the game. I do acknowledge the smaller words are an issue however, and there are some appearing in the dictionary I used that make the game harder to play once you’ve found the more obvious ones. I’m currently developing new features and improvements to Wordsmyth, and making amendments to the dictionary is highest priority. Please feel free to contact me directly, your input would be very useful!

Good, challenging game!

Good, challenging game that requires quite a bit of thought to find all of the words for each day’s puzzles! I like the relaxing animation/sounds. Wish there was an option to see the definitions of words found, especially with words I create that I’ve never heard of before (then I would be learning even more while I play).
