Good, Solid Tank Shooter but has problems

This used to be my top PVP game. I have played almost since launch and have >25,000 battles played. However my game time has declined a lot over the past two years. The decline is largely because of my experience of the matching. When I had around 10K battles my win rate was 64%. It has dropped steadily and noticeably over the last few years. As best I can tell, I am getting matched with very poor quality teams regulary. I hypothesize that could be because of three reasons: 1) the player base has matured and nowadays there are more clans and teams that party together than in the first few years, 2) WOT has constructed machine learning for the matching that attempts to equalize the mean win rate for teams to 50%, and 3) there has been an influx of Mobile platform players. For solo play (which I do most of the time) the effect of the first is to decrease the mean WR in the frequent presence of premade teams. (Have your data scientists show you the math on this.) If there is ML that equalizes WR but doesn't account for team heterogenity the ML may penalize high skill players by being forced to match with low skill players to equalize the rates. Finally, teams with high percent of mobile players will always be at a disadvantage from teams who play on high-end desktop machines. Serious pvp teams will tend to use desktops with low latency connections. If the matching logic doesnt consider the heterogeneity in the player base, the inclusion of mobile players in the same matching queue as desktop is a serioues problem for the player experience. I note that this pattern of poor matching also occured over time in the main World of Tanks game. I eventually stopped playing that other game entirely due to the matching experience. SEP 2024: fix the volume for video splash screens! They dont honor the sound settings on my desktop even when i turn all sound off.

Anyone who thinks this is a pay to win game, either is just a poor sport used to being able to hit the easy button or a poor player who doesn’t look at what is being played and strive to get themselves into one of those tanks. Tanks are realistically created to be similar to the real thing. That is, if you have a fast tank, it is likely to have low armor. If you have a slow tank it is likely to be heavily armored. There are hard hitting tanks in any tier and there are crappy tanks that no one ever plays. However, patience will pay off and get you into that Tiger II which is a heavy hitting, heavy armored, standard Tier tank and it can be achieved without paying anything. You will most likely pay something eventually because the game is that great. The only problem I have is that the US/Canada server sometimes crosses over with the LatAm servers based on activity in the later hours. What ends up happening is you getting flamed in spanish because either they or yourself didn’t understand what the plan was. I agree with the last reviewer that there are a lot of toxic players who will call you a nub and a moron and an idiota (that is the spanish way of bad insults). But they are easily ignored because what can they do to you sitting miles away behind a keyboard in their basement. I have logged so many hours on this game. I find myself going back to it time and again. If you are looking to blow something up and take out some frustration. This is a great game to do so.

World of Tanks Blitz is a free to play online tank shooter. With lots of tanks and play styles for everyone. I was reading the reviews for this game and I found a lot of people complaining the game is “Pay to WIn". Two people even suggested that only people that pay money get to be on the red team, but by default the enemy is aways red and you are aways green. I spent my first 3,000 games not paying any money what so ever and progressed just fine though the game. The only thing that paying money does is simply increase the speed at which you progress through the game and a add about 50 extra premium tanks that are not anymore OP then other non premium tanks. The illusion that premium tanks are better comes from the fact the lots of times people that are willing to pay money have played the game awhile and play often (Otherwise it would not be worth their money). Most people just think the games is unfair because they have played maybe 500 games (Not really that much at all compared to good players) and just need practice and lack patience, paying money is not going to make a 500 game player beat a player with 100 hundreds of hours experince game. Other people complain about not having enough credits(The games currency) and say that they need to pay to get them. Most of those people really are just focusing on to many tanks at once making the credits fly away, I’m working on 4 tanks right not and I’m a premium player, before I was premium I only worked on 2 at a time. In conclussion most of the complaints are just people that have little patience and are just blaming their, lets say maybe not so wise decisions on the game because it could not possably be their fault.

Basically the game WOT BLITZ is designed and developed to RIP YOU OFF constantly. It robs you of credits and gold each time you play. Here is the catch. The game functions where it needs to and FAILS as designed to keep diminishing your credits and gold and XP. Features like Matchmaking, AFK Players, Glitches and LAG, Ghost shells and Ghost Tanks, and many other wonderful little mechanical glitches designed into the game to keep you spending to play higher tiers or tanks. DO NOT BE FOOLED by the subsequent other free items or rewards or any pay things that disappear as developed in the first place. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED. The game is developed to part you with your money at every single turn, shot, battle and thats that. Even if you are say a 60% Win Rate player or higher you will see easily how the game continually causes losses of battles and credits and gold. It is much easier to detect when your win rates are higher or you have strings of wins or losses. Record your battles. Collect evidence of this on your computer. Hold on for the subsequent class action lawsuits to eventually throw this off the app store in North America and other countries. You are being had but of course you all know this by now. TRASH IT and move on! Lots of other things to do with you time for sure. Or give them money. Your choice. The game is also psychologically designed to keep you playing, so there is that too. If you like getting slapped in your face for doing so, go ahead its just really for your inner lizard brain and testosterone, not so much adrenaline because you will just end up depressed lol
