Move your Final Cut Pro X projects to the audio suite simply and quickly. X2Pro Audio Convert takes your FCP X XML and creates an AAF with embedded or referenced audio media which Avid Pro Tools can open as a session, delivering seamless integration between the two applications..
The AAF has also been successfully imported into Steinberg Nuendo, Merging Technologies Pyramix and Apple Logic Pro X.
X2Pro Audio Convert is a cutting edge conversion application for delivering FCP X projects for audio finishing, it is easy to use directly from within FCP X.
Taking advantage of the innovative Roles features in FCP X, X2Pro allows you to choose how these are converted to tracks; their order, packing and whether they are included, allowing sound designers to start working immediately.
Media can be embedded in the AAF (and trimmed with handles to minimise file size) to create a single, simple to transfer, file. Alternatively the AAF can reference external media which is ideal when FCP X and ProTools have access to the same shared storage.
Those who do not need the advanced functions of referenced, trimmed media, or close control of the conversion of Roles, can look at the cost effective X2ProLE.
X2Pro faithfully translates your audio timeline along with L-cuts, J-cuts, transitions, levels, automatic gain and fade handles, as well as the incredibly powerful FCP X compound clips. Transitions are converted into linear cross fades. Audio media can be any QuickTime supported audio, non-PCM audio is converted to PCM at either 16 or 24 bit.
R3D media is supported.
Multicam Clips are effectively translated taking across the audio of the selected angle.
X2Pro gives a clear warning when it comes across elements of a sequence which it cannot translate such as time maps and effects.
We recommend rendering an off-line or proxy version of the flattened video and exporting that if a reference is needed within Pro Tools. Only audio media is translated by X2Pro.
• FCP X, 10.0.4 or later and XML from 1.1
• X2Pro runs on OS X El Capitan (10.11) and later
• Pro Tools v7.0 or later for AAF import (not LE versions, v7 and v8 require Digitranslator for AAF import)

Works Well When it Will Open
I used X2Pro a few weeks ago but now on the same system I am getting and error message: "'X2Pro Audio Convert' is damaged and can't be opened. Delete the app and download again from the App Store."
I have deleted and reinstalled twice but I keep getting the same message. Tried to register for support on the form and and it said there was an error in sending my confirmation email!
Saved my life
I learned video editing "by myself" on FCPX six years ago. I'm now working as a freelancer for a TV channel and I felt really stupid the first time they asked me for an AAF and I realized FCPX doesn't manage to export one.
Hopefully I discovered this app, I was afraid of the price and some bad reviews but I had no choice : I bought it and I really don't regret it.
But it's not perfect : I'm pretty sure it's not developer's fault and the issues come from the buggy XML FCPX exports.
Issue #1 : The audio files in my AAF are sometimes completely different that what my audio is on my video, and not at the same place. I don't why (I rode that it might comes from the FCPX XML).
I struggled with that issue for a few weeks and finally found a solution : I have to copy/paste the audio from my project (the audio ONLY, with no video) to a new project, and only THEN the AAF coming out the XML is correct. It looks like there's sometimes a problem related to video-audio (it doesn't happen everytime).
Issue #2 : one guy I work with have problem when he imports my AAF in his pro tools : he can see that it's supposed to have an audio file somewhere, but the audio is missing. Don't know why.
The solution I found is :
-I export my XML from FCPX
-I create my AAF with X2Pro
-I import my AAF in Logic Pro
-I export a new AAF from Logic Pro
If devs want to get in touch with me to try to solve those problems I'd be happy to help.
Developer Response ,
Hello, thanks for taking the time to leave a review. We'd appreciate it if you could post on our forum and a member of our product team will get in contact with you that way to help out?
Essential App, great support
You can buy this app with confidence. I had a massively complex feature-length timeline to transfer to protools, and it came through perfectly. I had initially had some problems which turned out to not be related to the X2Pro app, and the support staff was able to confirm using my material that the tracks were coming into Protools sucessfully. It turned out to be user error on my part, which the X2Pro service department was very gracious about. There have been complaints about the lack of a service number or email, but use the forum. It’s not just a user knowledge base, the support staff follow the forum and will jump in to help you via email when you are stuck, like I was.
