xbCast X 4+

Weird that the app forces you to be on Wi-Fi, when it should see the XSX on the network when it's plugged in via gigabit Ethernet.
But, I disconnected the Ethernet on my Mac and my XSX to force them to use the same 5Ghz network, but the app still doesn't see it. It just opens up to "Your device must be turned on and connected to the same Wi-Fi network as this device" and an option for "Simulator Wi-Fi".
I wish this worked, since OneCast development ended with the Series series of xboxs (was only for the Xbox Ones - and it was perfect!).

The app works as advertised. I can stream my xbox onto a macbook and imac. So quite happy with it.

The fact that it is free and it works as well as it does means I am super happy.

Couple of issues (in order of importanc for me):
1) The app crashes sometimes at launch or when trying to connect with a device. But relaunching the app makes it work fine.
2) The devices don't show up at launch, you need to press the refresh button. Very small issue, once I realised this the first thing I do is hit refersh
3) The device names don't show up in the device list. Except for the Apple devices which show "Apple" as the name. Not a deal breaker but requires a bit of an extra step i.e. finding the devices IP address (or setting a static LAN IP for the xbox)
4) The crontrolls sometimes don't work or take long to connect. BUT they do eventually work and honestly for me its about watching the console on the laptop rather than actually playing. Jus thought I would point it out.

I followed the guidance from a review posted on June 27th from Tan D which was to refresh as soon as open it so I can actually find the device and connect.

It did crash so I closed it and reopeded, refreshed, then I saw my xbox screen and the game I was playing with was exciting.... for only that moment.

The stream constantly lags and not all movement is recorded as it then jumps to catch up with whatever is going on currently in the game. This was a big nope.

The app is also unable to be found in OBS for the purpose of stream recording/editing/video creation/etc..... this is also a big nope.

I will try it out maybe a few days but if it continues to be this way - I will remove it from my device.

Device used: NEW MacBook Pro with high speed internet.
