Description

xSight is designed to help early readers instantly recognize many of the common words they will encounter, including words with non-phonetic spellings. Available sight words lists include the Dolch, Fry, and Magic 100 sets. In addition, up to 36 user defined lists can be entered to perfectly match your child’s curriculum.
xSight is very easy to use, but is thorough. The computer speaks the word and the student picks it out of a matrix by clicking on it. If the word is selected correctly, xSight advances to the next word after a congratulatory comment. If the word is missed, the student is asked to try again.
The “Hints” feature allows the student to recognize the correct word by narrowing the choices to a single row or column.
After the lesson is completed there is a review session to go back over any words that were missed or received hints. The review is repeated as long as necessary for the student to correctly select all of the words.
You can use any of the available voices on your computer for the teacher. You can also pick out a subset of these voices for the student to easily cycle through with the "Change Voice" button. This helps with intelligibility on some words.
xSight is effective and easy to use. It’s a xApp !
