Yarn Hoarder fixes this problem by helping crocheters and knitters stay organized, save money, and never forget what’s in their stash again. Quickly find the yarn you are keeping track of by scanning the barcode and adding it to your inventory. From there, you can add yarn to your inventory while you make purchases as well as subtract yarn from your inventory when you use it up on your current WIP. Get alerts while managing your yarn in case you are running low and need to make a purchase. Whether you're at home or shopping for your next project, track everything you need—all in one place. Features: Barcode Scanner: Instantly add yarn using the UPC barcode. If it’s not found, easily search the thousands of yarn we already have, or manually add to help the community. Inventory Tracking: Log how much of each yarn you own with quantity and weight tracking. Transactions: Add or remove yarn using manual transactions, perfect for tracking project usage and cost. Yarn Details: Track brand, name, color, yarn weight, fiber content, yardage, grams, and ounces per skein. History Log: View all past transactions for a yarn, including date, type, quantity, and notes. Smart Search: Quickly find yarn by brand, name, or color. This app has helped me keep track of my yarn stash, I have had a difficult time trying to keep track of my yarn stash, this app is awesome it helps me keep track of what I have an project planning. If I could give more stars I would.

Confusing - is this used to track my yard or yours?

I downloaded this app, thinking it was a way to track my yarn stash, just like it says in the title. So I added a couple skeins manually one night and went back to edit the Information the next day and it said I needed their permission to make changes. This makes no sense. If I’m tracking my own yarn why do I need their permission? Instead, it seems like it’s a way to track yarn you want to sell- which was not what I was looking for. I’m looking for an app that I can use to track my own stash - without needing permission every time I want to update details common to the yarn…

Thanks for your feedback! I’d like to clear up the confusion.Your stash/inventory is always private to you. Only you can see and manage the quantity of skeins you have in your inventory.The public yarn database is separate — this is where yarn details (brand, color, weight, etc.) are stored so everyone doesn’t have to re-type the same yarn information over and over.To keep that shared database accurate, edits to existing yarn records go through a quick review. I have tried scanning in yarn from Wool Warehouse as well as Big Twist. some Craftsmart and Michael’s yarn and it didn’t find it. If I manually add it, it would be nice to have a “submit to database” for future use. Also, I will pay a one-time fee to get rid of the Ads.A feature request: provide an excel template we can fill in then import the data. This would save time being able to enter ALL my yarn at one time. I have a lot of yarn and the number of skeins I have scanned have not worked. Also, the ability to duplicate a yarn entry would help. For instance, I have a lot of the same yarn so most of the stats are the same except for the color. I wound love to help you out if testing is needed. Thank you for building the app!!!
