Love the races, don’t love the app

I have completed several races and with each one I have found it motivating to see my progress. The count down of miles and percentage complete is a nice touch. I also love the variety of races to choose from in terms of both the medal and distance. Plus, they are all affordable. The medals always arrive promptly and each one has been amazing!

However, I don’t love the app. Since my very first race last summer, I have experienced random sync issues. Some days it will work and some days it won’t. Now suddenly, it only wants to pull data from my daily activities not the “run, walk, cycle” that I have set up with Apple Health. I have not made any changes to the settings, so why it doesn’t work anymore is beyond me. Thankfully there is an option to manually enter the activities which still provides all the motivation, however it would be 5 stars without these glitches.

Love the races, hate the App

I LOVE this concept and for my first two races, the app was mildly annoying but usable. Now it’s stopped pulling from my Apple Health app with the exception of my “Daily Activities,” which I don’t want to use. I’ve been messaging for live help and nothing is working. Also the app freezes on EVERY screen and while I’m resigned to manually logging my miles for this last race, I don’t think I’ll be starting another unless there’s a major overhaul on the app. It’s way too much work. I’ll stay tuned for updates cuz it really got me moving again and let me connect and race my husband while we live apart, but now it’s just frustrating.

*update* I have tried disconnecting and reconnecting my device, and yes, all of the permissions have always been on. It worked flawlessly until about a week ago. Hoping there’s an update soon because I’m seeing I’m not the only one experiencing this exact problem right now.

Another update: after many updates between the app, my phone, and the watch, I’m still having most of these problems. And none of the lag features that were already frustrating have gotten better. I sincerely hope this same concept can be done with a much better app soon. Because I’m officially giving up once I complete the last race I paid for until it’s actually user friendly and functioning.

I see the response and just wanted to add then, that I have been in touch with them through this whole process, to no avail.

Update. Can I have you please reach out to customer service and ask for Alicia or Brittney . As they will be able to help you get you Apple Health to connect properly.

Get Moving and Enjoy the “Sights”

I saw an ad online and the medal looked nice. It was a 59 mile “Road to Hana” race. I wanted to see how long it would take me to log that many miles as my goal is to be able to run a half marathon one day. I’ve enjoyed the report each day showing the portion of ‘the road’ I’ve covered. One star off because it’s kind of glitchy when that GoogleEarth view runs: I can’t tell if it’s at the beginning or the end, and now that I’ve logged a bunch of miles, it would be fun to see it run from the very beginning to where I am now. You can also get credit for ‘daily activities’ so if you’re only using a step counter, it can count towards your goal.
Customer service has been fast and accurate for me, and I’m having fun with this app. I’ve also enjoyed the Facebook group.
