YI Home 4+

Starting in December 2018, the Mac application (version 1.1.1) stopped working on my Mac Mini running Mohave 1.14.1. Instead of showing alerts a text message was displayed "The link has expired, please retry after refreshing." I reported this to YI support on 5 Dec 2018. They reported that this was a known issue and was currently being worked on. After numerous communications and issues being opened and automatically closed, a new version of the Mac application (version 1.1.2) has finally been released which appears to resolve this problem.
I am disappointed that the resolution to this Mac-only issue took over 6 months to be fixed while there has been several updates to the mobile version of the application. This type of customer support does not inspire customer loyalty and makes me hesitate on any further purchases from Yi Technologies.

A lot of the features to this application seem closed off.

For example If I open up a stream to view a video feed, I’d like it to stay open, instead I’m fighting with the timeout all day long.

Much of the design seems to be focused on providing you quick access to the featues, which is excellent… good job… but What I NEED is to see the video. I can’t resize the window to say… just see the video, (on a desktop computer) make it stay on top of other applications, and I can’t make it full screen without having to view the onscreen controls. It’s definitely a work in progress towards a good solution, but since I can’t access the video stream any other way than through this application, I’m going to have to ask for more, before I rate it higher.

I have been using Yi cameras for several years now. I can tell you when i first purchased, the iphone features and functionality were like they were developed out of a garage. However, I'm pleased to say that Yi has progressively been making solid updates to their software, plus delivering updates at a pretty good pace. So I'm much happier and i find the platform good. My major quams are remove advertisements for cloud after one purchases it), and yes, keep the camera stream on vs closing it and making one have to re-engage. Plus, the app for my macbook needs to have all the features as the phone app (not sure why this is lagging, hopefully they address this soon).
