YoLink 4+

I have tried a lot of smart home technology over the years. But the products from this company are the ones I tell my friends to buy. The hardware is very good and on par with other companies but what puts this ahead of the game is how well the software was designed and laid out. It’s almost like my next question is the next thing in the software for me to do. The screens and wording used is very clear and you understand it almost immediately.

I have one request that I really really really wish the designers would implement right away. There’s a feature where you can continuously be alerted if a door is left open. But the problem is the way they designed it. The minimum alert time is 10 minutes. This is way too long for me as there is time for a pet or a young child to escape the house before I know it, when you set this door remaining open Alert, I would like it to be able to alert me every minute. Not every 10 minutes.

Excellent hardware, very easy setup. App is straightforward enough. The stuff does its job. Two improvement suggestions: 1—as others have said, please allow configuration of all sounds. I want to make all YoLink sounds NOT be the standard Apple “boo-da-vino” text alert sound, and I want to make some YoLink sounds different from others (garage door left open vs. water leak detected, etc.). And 2—enable CarPlay. It would be nice to be able to manage garage doors at the very least from in-car. Also if I’m on the road somewhere and a water leak happens, it would be nice to hear that immediately in-car so I could pull over and call a neighbor, or turn around and go home, etc.

The products I have no issue with and they all seem to work really well. Very happy with that aspect. The app needs some tweaks and would be perfect. First there is no integration with the shortcuts app on the iPhone. If it did then I could say Siri open the garage door, and have a shortcut on my watch and phone to do the same. Also I cannot for the life of me get the scene to work at all. It seems like you set up the device and you pick a alarm strategy and that’s it it stays to that . If you make the automation change it to another scene or you yourself set the scene as a favorite and click on it. Doesn’t work and it makes the device stay at the default alarm strategy/scene that you selected when you set it up. Other then that I think it works great. Ability to change the alert tone would be nice so you could make it different for everything else.
