Yonomi 4+

I was intrigued by this app based off of its capability to update my two nest thermostats to away and home based off of my location. At first, I set up a routine to set my thermostat to away when I left my home. However the “Set Away” option wasn’t working. In other words, when I leave my home the app will not update my nest thermostat to away if my routine set up this way. However, if the routine is set up using the “Set Mode to _____” option (and setting the variable to ‘Eco’) then when I leave my home the app will update my Nest thermostat to Eco. It appears there is something wrong with the “Set Away” and “Set Home” options.

For now, I’m using the “Set Mode to...” option. However, the Set Away/Home options should be fixed so that when I arrive home, the thermostat will turn back to the mode it was in before being set to Eco.

Yonomi was already a great app that has Nest Support which is a must for me. Adding Siri shortcuts just made this app invaluable. However, fan start / stop for Siri shortcuts seems to be missing which is a huge feature. I reached out to them and they said it was there but I don’t see it. I’ve since reached out 2 more times without any response. 3 stars instead of 5 for two reasons. 1. Missing an important feature that their own support said was there. 2. Support not getting back after the initial response... twice. Hopefully I hear from them soon and the app gets updated with the siri shortcut feature. I will update to 5 stars once these happen.

EDIT: emailed support again... response almost 2 weeks later asking for my account info. Sent it. Been another week and no reply. Reducing my rating to 2 stars for lousy support and wasting my time. I will gladly up this rating once this gets addressed properly.

I’m a fan of this app. No, it doesn’t support every brand of IoT device out there, but that’s on the maker of that device people not Yonomi. Stop griping because it doesn’t support SmartThings...that’s on Samsung. Duh. What it does support, it does well and reliably for me so far. I love the Apple Watch interface as well. Like being able to run a routine from my watch through yonomi when I come back from walking my dogs to unlock my door, turn on my lights and TV. Pretty cool. The geofencing is like other apps and I’m not sure how to set a tighter radius for my liking on that but still a cool feature for most.
