Descrição

Store your unique credentials on a hardware-backed security key and take it wherever you go from mobile to desktop. No more storing sensitive secrets on your mobile phone, leaving your account vulnerable to takeovers. With the Yubico Authenticator you can raise the bar for security.

* The Yubico Authenticator will work with any USB, Lightning, or NFC-enabled YubiKeys.
* As iPads do not have NFC, they will only work through a Lightning or USB connection.

The Yubico Authenticator generates a code used to verify your identity as you are logging into various services. No connectivity needed!

Features include:
Touch or NFC Authentication - Touch the YubiKey sensor or simply tap a YubiKey with NFC to a mobile phone that is NFC-enabled to store your credential on the YubiKey
USB-C support - Connect the YubiKey 5Ci or any USB-C type YubiKey. When prompted, depending on the key, touch the contacts on the sides of the key or the golden ring on the top
Biometric support - Experience greater convenience by unlocking your YubiKey with FaceID or TouchID
Easy Setup - QR codes available from the services you wish to protect with strong authentication
User Presence - New codes generated with just a touch or NFC tap of the YubiKey
Compatible - Secure all the services currently compatible with other Authenticator apps
Secure - Hardware-backed strong two-factor authentication with secret stored on the YubiKey, not on the mobile device
Versatile - Support for multiple work and personal accounts
Portable - Get the same set of codes across our other Yubico Authenticator apps for desktops as well as for all leading mobile platforms
Flexible - Support for time-based and counter-based code generation
Smart Card - Support for Apple's CryptoTokenKit Extension making it possible to use certificates stored on your YubiKey to authenticate with other apps and sites

No tablet support?

Response to yubico: well isn’t that just like Apple to be nonsensical. Apple really needs to stop being anti-competitive and anti-user. Well, thank you Yubico for the replay. END UPDATE/:/:/Had a little difficulty getting it to work with the phone, but after spending a while and many attempts, I finally got it to work. Moving onto my iPad with a USB-C port, I am met with a notice that the device is not supported since it doesn’t have a lightning port or nfc. Which means, despite having a 5C NFC, I can’t use it with my tablet because they failed to update the app. This makes no sense: make a usb-C device but the app doesn’t support it? Get it together Yubico.

Hello! This has now been resolved in our latest version of the app: Version 1.7.1 :)

Works as Designed, but complex and frustrating

To get two different key types (PC and iWhatsit) working on both classes of device with ONE website took three hours of fooling with terse instructions and a load of mysterious, unexplained acronyms. This is supposed to be a slick, secure way to use two-factor authentication (2FA) to log on to web sites. However, the setup process is so convoluted, aggravating, and failure-prone, it seems better for my blood pressure and mental health to turn off 2FA and just forget the whole thing. If ever you get it set up right, it works correctly. I am a retired fifty-year computer geek. I can only wonder what chance an ordinary home user has to get going. Support is nonexistent. I submitted a simple question a week ago, and have gotten nothing but the robotic initial acknowledgment.

Update after response: The email alias address I used to open the requests is not my Apple alias address. I own and administer my private email domain, so no spam folder issue. Search on the email domain.

Hi there, Apologies for the issues you had with the app. We took a look in our support tickets and didn't see a ticket--have you checked your spam folder to see if it perhaps landed there? You're welcome to reach out to us directly on Twitter @Yubico and we can manually open a ticket for you there as well.

Best authenticator app, not quite perfect.

I just got into two keys and i love the ingenuity employed with this. Thus far they’ve worked fine with iPhone 11 Pro/iOS 16.3.1.
Two things I would like to see:
If the OTP browser notification is turned off, it disables the key’s NFC functionality for other apps - at least Bitwarden - but I frequently get the browser notification by mistake with it on, which gets annoying. It would be nice to see those maybe as separate options.
The other thing that would be nice is a little more admin capability with WebAuthn credentials and PINs like desktop applications, duplicating TOTPs between multiple keys and being able to view and copy TOTP secrets. I think adding those options would really improve the app for all platforms.
