Yuzu - for the Asian community ١٧+

I’ve enjoyed it, although it is a bit buggy with messaging as it never tells me someone sent message until I exit the conversation.
So much better than other dating apps for finding Asians. I’m so glad to find a bigger community here. I’ve been able to talk to and meet more Asians ^^
Also, as an Asian who struggles to connect and find other Asians locally, I like this app, but I also wish the filters were more strict on specifically finding Asians. I feel like they don’t work even when I use them. I’ve noticed quite a lot of non Asians have joined the app. And.., if the person isn’t Asian, I’m probably not swiping right on them. I want to connect with others like me..
As others have said, devs cant really ban non Asians. Still quite a few non Asians on this app want to fetishize us 😞 I know not all do that or have that intention. But at least I can connect with other Asians and it’s not JUST people trying to fetishize us as I’ve had the unfortunate experiences on a couple other dating apps in the US.
So overall I do like Yuzu. It’s a lot more friendly feeling than TanTan or EME ??

obviously the developers can’t exclude/ban people based on their identity, but from my understanding it is meant for asians/people with asian culture. and I have just seen a lot of people that I would rather not connect with that aren’t asian or are just there for the wrong reasons. I wish there was a filter for users to look for people in their age group or with the same ethnicity like on other apps. it runs well overall though and I’ve connected with some people

Yuzu’s mission and intention for this app is great and something I have been looking for for the longest time. I have mostly enjoyed using the social aspect of the app (versus dating side). I want to continue being a fan of Yuzu, and will be here hoping for some app improvements. It is still too new (as an app and for my region of the US) that there is not a lot of people for me to go through before I see profiles that are 150 miles away from me. I really wish there was a way for the app to be very strict to my distance preferences because there is no point for me to consider friends that far. The biggest gripe I have is that I continue to see several people that do not seem to be of Asian descent here… in a space that is for Asians to meet other Asians…I understand Yuzu may not be able to should not discriminate or filter people out of this app….But I think there should be more of an effort to emphasize and provide educational resources in how to respect this space/what are some of the problematic issues here/or understand that this space is for community building and/dating for Asians.
