"For those of a certain age who loved adventure game books, it’s the perfect app to play and one that players will find themselves returning to. Not least because they’ll have to be pretty skilled to ‘win’!"
4 out of 5 stars - Jennifer Allen, 148 Apps.com
"I've been having a blast with this since it's essentially gameifies what runs through my head whenever I read or watch a piece of zombie content, but it's also solid production-wise. I heartily recommend this to anyone that still has an itch for zombies, or even an appreciation of primarily text-based titles."
~ 4/5 stars - Brad Nicholson, Toucharcade
"ZDAY is a 21st century text-based Simulator game that puts you the player in tough, real-world situations. The game play is easy and you can soon control it well."

Created and Designed by Animator and Director Ed Anderson, ZDay: Tales of the Undead is an intelligent adventure game that starts you in a crowded suburb at ground zero of a full blown infection, and says "what would you do?". Faced with one scenario after another, the player has to make choices that will either lead them to escape or perish like so many others. So keep your wits about you, and choose carefully, because one wrong move could have you facing a zombie horde or roving bands of trigger-happy looters.
I was happy to see a new version made but I miss the original one/two weapon version and the more recent one with the inventory. I still have them but I wish they were updated to have more content. Also, Survivor Z is fun, had it for almost 11 years almost as long as the original ZDay survival simulator.I do appreciate the updated combat system and the new interface, but I don’t think you can beat the simple and original interface and combat system. Still like the stories though. Good game but miss the classics.
Good game, one problem

I played the original game and I like it a lot, this game is even better with an updated system but there are a few problems to it. For me the biggest problem is that when I’m playing the game it will at random times close the whole app. I’ve only experienced this problem with this game. Any chapter/story I choose and playing for awhile it will just exit me out the app. It really annoying and it makes me lose my progress. Another problem is there would be a way to save your progress on stories so you can go back and leave where you left off and not just star all over. I’ve also noticed something with the companions, in the original game you could take and give the companions weapons and you could also heal them, I think that feature should be readded. Other then that I like the game very much.
Good revamp of a classic

One question though, are the Prison and Hunting Loge stories completed and supposed to be available? Currently, they seem to be either bugged or flagged as unavailable, because I can’t purchase them to unlock them.
Mediocre at best

This game had a good concept: remake the original ZDay. The execution and planning, though, I can’t really vouch for. First off, the original ZDay had a way better “Tank” mode; complete with an M60 as the primary weapon. This game’s “Tank” mode is a complete butchery. It only gives an AA-12 as the best weapon. Second off, content locked behind a paywall; need I say more?
- Updated the icon for attack stats
- Updated website URLs
- Fixed bug with high score not saving correctly
- Fixed bug with inventory not persisting across storylines
- Fixed bug where story critical characters can no longer be dismissed
