Pretty good at what it does
This app is geared more toward personal time tracking than professional situations, as it does not aspire to be as detailed as more professionally-inclined apps like Timing. It does not provide an easy way to see past records at a glance, export them to csv or xml, etc, but provides a uniquely easy and enjoyable way to check your daily time-spending.
I’m a freelancer and have used ZeitNote as a secondary timing app, and across a gazillion apps (Sublime Text, Scrivener, browsers, word processors, even the occasional game), it seemed to track very accurately, giving equivalent results to Timing (another great app).
The pop-down window accessible with one menu-bar click is very well-thought and designed, it gives you a bar-chart of your time distribution right on top of a timeline (with different apps highlighted in different colors), making it super-easy to check the time spent throughout the day at a glance.
Like I said, it does not provide a more general (weekly, monthly) overview or export options, but it definitely excels at what it does. Not a single crash on OS X 10.10.4 either, quite stable.
There is some room for development but the app has definitely diversified itself from many time-tracking apps by providing accurate and fast daily time distribution. Thanks to the devs for the great work/
With Family Sharing set up, up to six family members can use this app.
