Zip & Rar lets you extract any archive file in seconds! Import any zip, rar, tar, tar.gz, or 7z file from your phone or computer and view its content without any hassle. Browse your files and compress them into both regular and password-protected zip files. All for free!

With support for most compression formats (including zip, rar, tar, tar.gz, and 7z), Zip & Rar is the most convenient way to open, view, and compress archive files on your iOS device. Import an archive file to the app, either right from another app (e.g. Mail, Dropbox, or Safari) or through the file manager, and with one tap you are able to view and modify its content. You can also import select files to the app to be compressed (with or without password). Zip & Rar comes with a full-featured file management system that makes it easy to manage multiple archives at once.

We are continuously working to add new functionality to the app. At the moment, Zip & Rar offers the following features.

Warning: read before downloading

Don’t get me wrong, this isn’t trying to scare off anyone who needs an archiver app. In fact, I use this app a lot for unzipping rar files.

However, I want to make sure everyone who downloads this app knows that according to the privacy policy, it states that it may collect log data which includes your IP address, device name, and other statistics for the purposes of “error logging”, which is useless seeing as the app hasn’t been updated in 4+ years.

That’s all!

Clean, precise, fully functional and intuitive. Had no issues importing multiple files or selecting for that matter.

Wireless transfer from a computer to your IPhone/IPad using the browser wireless function is reminding of using FTP transfers and works without issue. Of course, one could simply use AirDrop if you are in the IOS ecosystem, but none the less, if you have some files on a Windows machine, without ICloud installed, this is a very nice little option.

Password protection (one of the main reasons I wanted this due to 7Zip being a boss) works as it should and from what I could tell, has no possible issues concerning hash and encryption security.

This is an app that could easily charge for its functionality, but unlike it’s “competitors”, it actually works as it should.
