This game is designed to treat a specific auditory ability related to learning or reading problems. Your local audiologist or speech-language specialist can assess whether this game is right for your child or for an adult with a brain injury. If you think that your child has listening, language or learning problems that might be related to auditory processing, visit your local audiologist or speech-language pathologist and recommend acoustic pioneer to get your child's auditory processing abilities tested. If your specialist has already supplied you with a code to use this game, install this game and enter the code once you run the game. For the professional: This game is an auditory training exercise that is designed to incrementally improve the player's ability to hear and distinguish a different sound in each ear occurring at once. This skill requires a developed auditory pathway to each cortical hemisphere (side of the brain) as well as a developed auditory pathway in the corpus collosum (between each hemisphere). This ability of a player to perform this skill indicates the status of their auditory system development. Lesions or under-development of these auditory pathways have been shown in many studies to limit abilities in; a) focusing attention in difficult listening environments, b) difficulty learning to read, c) difficulty following spoken instruction, d) difficulty putting visual information together with auditory information. Improving these auditory pathways is crucial to address prior to focus therapy or training on higher levels skills.

Prescribed by our audiologist, doing this program twice a week for 2 months resulted in a few stable and some decreased scores in the final Acoustic Pioneer report. It’s also highly repetitive, and my child really didn’t like it. Finally, it’s expensive. Good in concept, and the developers obviously tried to make it fun, but I cannot recommend it. Very disappointing.

My daughter hates it so much. Always freezes and that bird voice is so annoying that even for an adult it’s awful to listen to. Boring graphics and don’t keep kids interested in this process at all.
