Ability to upload files is not consistent

Sometimes the buttons to upload files (paperclip, iOS file system etc.) show up. Other times it only shows photo and camera access.

When it did show up, it was when the reply to comment button showed up beside the text box, which only intermittently appears even if you have tapped on a comment.

If you long press the comment, reply is an option, but the file attachment is only photos.

I managed to get a PDF to start uploading, but the keyboard was then pushed off the screen, so I couldn’t hit enter to post it.

There may be a related issue to handling landscape to portrait while composing.

Fantastic chat app, best so far

We just started using Zulip at the company because of the threads feature. Running a self-hosted version. This solution is fantastic because it forces users to use topics so keeps messages organized. If working with remote teams who cannot respond in real time this makes a big difference. The iOS app works well too with mobile notifications and easy filtering to see either all or only new messages or only messages in a specific stream (channel) or topic ( thread). If using any paid chat solution where you pay by user, think again. This is open source, we run it on a $10/month instance with a cloud provider.

App is Broken

Sometime recently this app became broken. I have a year old iPad Pro, running the brand newest iOS; but this app won’t work properly anymore.

When I click to view a topic with new messages in it, I get the topic screen without any of the conversation in it. It just shows a bunch of lines, like it usually does while loading the conversation for a split second. But for me I get that screen with no content forever. I have to leave the topic, and then go back into it a second time for the app to load the conversation.

Additionally, if I type a message in the topic screen, it won’t show my new message to me. I have to leave the topic and re-enter the topic to see anything I typed in the topic. This is hard though, because once you leave the topic, the topic disappears from the list of unread topics.

We believe this issue is now fixed! Please update in the App Store to 26.14.137 (or later) and try it out, and let us know whether you're still having trouble. Thanks again for the report -- this was helpful for us in tracking the issue down and fixing it.

Thanks for this report! That is a bad bug. Yours is the second report we've heard of this issue, and it's helped us reproduce it and investigate.

The issue appears to affect larger iPad models, including the iPad Pro (but not iPhone, or iPad mini.)

We're continuing to investigate, and we'll be sure to let you know when we have a solution. Sorry the app hasn't been working for you, and thanks again for letting us know.
