Sure, the YouTube app is incredibly easy to use, but there are still a few ways to level up your video viewing!

1. Slow your roll
Want to scrutinize each moment of a makeup tutorial or sports clip? Switch to slo-mo. Go as slow as a quarter speed—or if you’re in a rush, crank it up to a brisk but still intelligible 1.5x.
Where to find it: Tap the gear icon on a video as it’s playing, then select “Playback speed.”
2. Share a clip
The app’s Clips feature makes it easy to share five to 60 seconds from any video. It’s as easy as selecting a segment and creating a shareable link.
Where to find it: Swipe right on the icons below a video until you see Clip. (You’ll need to set up a YouTube channel to use this feature.)

3. Eradicate ads
A YouTube Premium subscription lets you stream ad-free, download videos for offline viewing, watch with picture-in-picture mode, and try experimental new features.
Where to find it: Tap your account icon on the lower right, then tap Get YouTube Premium.
4. Take a break
Want the app to let you know when you’ve been watching for a while? Set up reminders and the app will nudge you to take a quick break.
Where to find it: Tap your account icon on the lower right, go to Settings > General, then tap “Remind me to take a break.”

5. Set a sleep timer
Use the app’s sleep timer to stop playback after a set time (from 10 minutes to an hour).
Where to find it: Tap the gear icon on any video, then select “Sleep timer.”
