This sequel to 2009’s stone-cold classic Doodle Jump does a terrific job of updating the original while retaining what makes it great: easy-to-learn, hard-to-master platforming in which you tilt your device to bounce a hand-drawn hero up to ever more impressive high scores.

What we love: The new twists to the formula, as you collect stars to unlock new themed worlds with jazzy platform types and mean monsters to contend with. From T. Rexes to disco balls, Doodle Jump 2’s later levels reward your persistence with grin-inducing quirks, novelties and surprises.

Quick tip: Don’t forget you can bounce right off one side of the screen onto the other if you’re in a tight spot – great if you’re running out of road on one side of the screen and spot a handy platform on the other.

Meet the creator: Lima Sky was founded by Igor and Marko Pusenjak, the Croatian–born brothers who have made Doodle Jump for all sorts of other platforms. They finally released this sequel in 2020, more than a decade after the original game’s release.
