“Asteroid incoming! Flip your phone! Now! I SAID NOW!”
When you start shouting statements like that, you realize you’re really into Spaceteam.
Many games put you in your own little bubble, but Spaceteam is different. This cooperative game is all about playing together—not online but in the same room. And it’ll have you frantically screaming at your friends to get their act together.
Spaceteam requires at least two players, eight at most. After everyone downloads the app and syncs their devices via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi, it’s time to save your spaceship from exploding.
To do this, you’ll need to complete the commands that come rushing toward you on your control panel. Some commands relate to the controls on your unit, but most will be on a friend’s. And therein lies the collaborative challenge. You’ve got to call orders to your friends while your friends call theirs back to you. The more players there are, the more frantic things get.
And that’s great. You’ll start off in chaos but quickly fall into a more controlled, methodical approach—at least until the pressure ramps up.
Then it’s back to the madness, and to at least one friend who’s way too into the game screaming, “Activate the Infrapiston! Now! I SAID NOW!”
