Thunderdogs

Online battles in the skies

VIEW

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks, but in the action-packed Thunderdogs, you can teach Rover to fly a plane, dodge enemies, and rule the skies. You don’t even need a leash!

Pick a ship, equip some upgrades, and start shooting.

Giving new meaning to the word “dogfighting,” Thunderdogs drops your pooch into a sleek jet fighter. Playing online against real-world opponents, you shoot down enemies while attempting to collect as many golden bones as possible. Grab enough and you’ll becomes the top dog, transforming your small craft into a massive, flying fortress of doom. Naturally, this makes you a target, as every other player on the map scrambles to take you down.

To stay safe, collect power-ups. Your plane’s standard peashooter can temporarily be upgraded to a huge laser beam that burns through the competition, or a shotgun-style blast that takes the pain out of aiming.

Thunderdogs exudes style with nostalgic 8-bit graphics and lots of flashy colors. The dogs are hilariously cute too. You’ll almost feel bad blowing them out of the sky. Almost.

Don’t let the bright graphics fool you—these skies are extremely unfriendly.

Hefty postmatch rewards incentivize you to become leader of the pack. All those bones you collect can be traded in for new upgrades and aircraft, each of which features a different pilot with unique attributes. Tiny, a gruff Rottweiler in cool sunglasses, favors power and handling, while Exodius, a poofy Pomeranian strapped into a space shuttle, prefers a superfast dash to escape trouble.

Good luck playing it safe, however. Thunderdogs’ skies are pure relentless chaos. If you want to become the alpha dog, you’re going to have to fight for it.
