The days might feel super-short, but with these apps to help your low-light efforts, you don’t have to stop snapping come sundown. We’ve used them to capture some of our favorite night images. Here’s how:
Manual focus for beautiful blurs
City nightscapes are a mishmash of light sources that require more than a shutter click to faithfully capture. Luckily, Procam 5 has a shooting mode that's fit for the task. Tap the up arrow on the bottom left of the toolbar, then select Night mode. It’ll slow your shutter and let in more light—but you’ll need to hold your iPhone extra-still.
If you can't get enough light for a sharp photo, a blurry shot is actually a great way to reveal urban depth and beauty. You can also reduce the exposure to minimize background brightness and give city lights a pop-and-shimmer effect.

Detail even in low light
Controlling image noise is especially difficult when photographing at night. Hydra has a trick for getting around this—its Lo-Light mode stacks multiple frames of a static shot to form one image. This intensifies the direct light while decreasing noise to achieve superior image quality. It works great for stationary objects.

Night moves
Cars in motion, flickering flames, and shimmering stars—NightCap Pro captures these fleeting moments in the dark with profound detail. Presets such as Light Trails, Long Exposure, and Star Trails save you from having to take numerous trial-and-error pics to get the right shot.
