Blinkist: Book Summaries Daily

Learn something new every day

Blinkist helps you stay on top of your favorite subjects, authors, and trending titles by condensing popular nonfiction books—including New York Times best-sellers—into manageable 15-minute summaries (called Blinks) for easy reading or listening.

What we love: In the app’s Shortcasts, popular podcast creators provide the same service with a carefully curated collection of shortened episodes. When 15 minutes is more than you can find, skip to the final summary for a nutshell explanation in just a couple of minutes.

With Blinkist, learning something new is never more than 15 minutes away.

Quick tip: Invite friends and family to join you in Spaces, a book-club-like feature offering opportunities for deeper connections around the titles and topics you love. Create and name as many Spaces as you like—you can design them around genres or themes—then invite others to share ideas and recommendations.

Meet the creator: Cofounders Tobi Balling, Niklas Jansen, Sebastian Klein, and Holger Seim created Blinkist in 2012 as young professionals who found their budding careers left them too busy to pursue their interest in books. Before long, they realized they weren’t alone. “Everybody loves reading, but no one has the time,” says Seim, Blinkist’s CEO. “We’re trying to fix that by getting more great books to more people.”
