Got a big bag of clothes, shoes, and accessories in your closet that you’d love to get rid of? We’ve been there and done that...with the help of Poshmark.
The app is different than other communities for selling your stuff. We’ve found it’s best for items worth around $100 or less. While the majority of sales are for women’s products, men’s and kids’ clothing are growing in popularity.
Poshmark makes listing your items super-easy, but all the rules of selling online apply: To maximize your sales price, you’ll need beautiful photos of your items—composition, cropping, and lighting matter. You’ll also need to respond to buyers’ questions and offers promptly, or risk losing the sale.
You may receive a bunch of offers significantly lower than your advertised price, but don’t be discouraged. Poshmark folks know how to haggle, so put your negotiation hat on. You can always counter the offer or reject it entirely.
When you sell an item, Poshmark makes completing the transaction a breeze. The buyer has already paid for shipping, so all you need to do is print out the label and tape it to a box. (If you don’t have a box, order free ones from the USPS.)
Your earnings remain in your Poshmark account until you cash out. Opt for direct deposit or have Poshmark mail you a check.
So take a critical look at your closet and give Poshmark a try. After all, one person’s regrettable impulse buy might be another’s new favorite sweater.
