What we love: How easy it is to track your food intake and activity in the Diary section (especially with the built-in barcode scanner). Lifesum chimes in with simple recommendations such as taking a long walk, hydrating, or increasing your protein intake. A quick test helps you find the perfect meal plan to meet your goals while also honoring your dietary preferences or limitations. Lifesum’s database of over 1,000 recipes are all created by their in-house team of chefs and nutritionists.

Log your food and activity daily and the app will deliver insights and track your progress over time—no matter your health goals.

Quick tip: Lifesum’s dynamic gradient design on the main tab helps visualize your daily nutrition at a glance. Didn’t consume enough calories? You’ll notice a mostly green display. Hit your protein and carb goals, but need more healthy fats? You’ll see mostly orange and fuchsia.

Meet the creator: Headquartered in Stockholm, Lifesum was founded by Marcus Gners, Henrik Torstensson, Martin Wallaby, and Tove Westlund in 2013. After battling a serious illness, Gners wanted to help others improve their quality of life through food. He helped develop Lifesum to inspire people to make healthier (and tastier) choices.
