Psychedelic Glitch Filters

Anzeigen

If you hear the phrase “photo filters” and still think of sepia tones and digital grain, prepare to have your mind blown by Hyperspektiv—a visceral filter app that takes your images from the nostalgic to the psychedelic.

The camera opens as soon as you launch the app, giving you more than two dozen free filters to apply to your pics or videos.

The frame is square by default (though you can switch to landscape mode by rotating your iPhone or iPad horizontally), and it’s chockablock with filters you’ll need to see to fully comprehend.

Hyperspektiv’s filters are full of world-bending creative possibilities.

The Lofi House filter captures the analog fuzz of an aging VHS tape. Slicer replicates the muddy pixelation of a buffering video feed. Plasma hauntingly twists images as though time and space are being warped right in front of your eyes.

Hologram has a psychedelic vibe, with waves of almost tie-dye–like light and amped up contrast. Protea separates colors in a way that’ll leave you seeing triple.

There are filters that invert colors (Battery Acid), mimic thermal cameras (Cypher), and splice images into ever-fracturing kaleidoscopes (Prism).

Slide your finger across the camera’s view and you’ll see filter changes instantly.

All of these effects can be applied to images already in your Camera Roll (just tap the Import button). And maybe coolest of all, the filters are malleable: If you slide your finger across any image, you’ll tweak the effects in real time, making the filters seem as though they were alive.

With such unique effects, you can capture new levels of emotion.

To take your editing to another dimension, Hyperspektiv offers a Pro subscription. You’ll get exclusive new artfully distorted filters each month, the ability to save and export high-resolution photos and videos, and permission to create an unlimited number of your own customized filters.

To create, save, and name your own filters, tap the Wildcard filter. With each tap, you’ll get an entirely new and randomized mixture of distortions.

When you see something you like, adjust it as necessary. Love your new custom filter? Just tap Save to name and store it.
