In Adventures of Pip’s fantasy land, class is determined not by gold or power, but by video resolution. Royals live a 16-bit life of luxury, workers enjoy a peaceful 8-bit existence, and the lowliest peasants are single pixels.
But when an evil sorceress kidnaps the princess, it’s up to a humble red pixel named Pip to save the day.
This action platformer makes smart use of those graphical differences. As a lone pixel, Pip can jump and float. Defeating certain enemies upgrades Pip to 8- and 16-bit forms, giving him abilities like wall jumping, melee attacks, and increased strength.
You can shape-shift to fit the situation at hand: You might use Pixel Pip to squeeze into a tiny space and grab some loot, wall-jump to the next area as 8-bit Pip, and then move heavy blocks out of the way as 16-bit Pip.
As you brave each stage across five massive worlds, you’ll rescue villagers and collect treasure to spend on valuable power-ups—paying homage along the way to the evolution of 2D games.
