SIMULACRA

A found phone horror game

View

In Simulacra, you come across a lost smartphone and, when taking a peek to try to identify the owner, find a terrifying video of a tear-streaked, 22-year-old woman named Anna issuing a dire warning: “Don’t come find me.

Does this fictional social media app hold clues to Anna’s whereabouts?

That’s the spine-chilling premise of the horror mystery Simulacra. By piecing together tidbits of information—photos, text, social media posts—you’ll figure out who (or what) might be behind the woman’s sudden disappearance.

Simulacra cleverly mimics a smartphone interface, complete with contacts, email, and apps. You’ll feel a sense of guilt and urgency as you comb through her photos and videos, poke through her browser history, and read conversations with potential suitors on a dating app.

A shattered screen is just one of Simulacra’s jolting scares.

Scouring the phone for clues, you’ll interact with characters via text chat, videos, and phone calls. Why is Anna’s ex-boyfriend so belligerent? How come this guy she matched with on a dating app is so interested in her disappearance? To get to the bottom of it all, you’ll have to pursue leads, unscramble corrupted files, and hack passwords.

Simulacra is filled with shocking twists and creepy surprises. Turns out the only thing scarier than losing your phone might be finding someone else’s.
