DC Universe Infinite gives you access to DC’s legendary catalog, featuring over 25,000 comics from Superman’s first appearance in 1938’s Action Comics #1 to today’s newest stories and characters.

What we love: The app makes the comic world incredibly accessible, even for newbies. The Get to Know section on the Comics tab rounds up all the comics that feature popular characters, either solo or in an ensemble, while the Storylines section makes it easy to dive into your favorite story arcs. Already a comics expert? Navigate the entire library by era, character, artist, writer, imprint, and publishing date.

Catch up with all of DC’s iconic characters.

Quick tip: Want to take in all the detail that makes a comic special? From Page Mode in the reader, double tap the panel you want to see to access Panel View, which makes each panel full-screen. From there, drag your finger horizontally across the screen to move forward and backward.

Meet the creator: DC Comics began as National Allied Publications, formed by entrepreneur Malcolm Wheeler-Nicholson in 1934. Detective Comics #1 was the first title released under the DC banner, followed by Action Comics #1 in 1938. It was the first comic to prominently feature a superhero, paving the way for the genre by introducing Superman to the world.
