My Talking Tom 2

The App Store’s most famous cat is back in My Talking Tom 2. And this time, you can take the beloved kitty traveling, care for him when he gets hurt, and even give him a pet. Yes, Talking Tom is a virtual pet with a virtual pet.

With more than 20 games in the series, you’d think that developer Outfit7 would know what a Talking Tom game looks like. But game designer Matej Jenko shuts down this assumption quickly: “We don’t really know what a Tom game is,” he admits.

“What I mean is, we don’t rely on recipes. We constantly try new things.”

One of those new things is a pet system, where you can give Tom one of five unlockable sidekicks to keep him company. Also new is the ability to travel all over the world on Tom’s private plane. You’ll also unlock new clothes and decorative objects for his home. And if Tom gets hurt—or eats a hot pepper and begins breathing fire—it’s up to you to fix him.

Tom has come a long way from the days of just repeating what the player says. In Talking Tom 2, he’s more interactive, more playful, and more talkative than ever.
