If you’ve ever wondered why certain videos on social media look so much better than others, we can explain: It’s because the good ones are made with apps like Adobe Premiere Rush CC.
Premiere Rush can transform amateur videos into polished films by adding swooshing text, a musical soundtrack, voice-over audio, and other pro-caliber features. It lets you shoot, it lets you edit, and it lets you share.
As other pro-level video editing apps do, Premiere Rush provides multiple “tracks” in which to place video and audio files for each of your projects. This multitrack editing system lets you drag and drop files and easily add fun transitions and graphics. You can also edit your entire project in landscape, portrait, or square, so your finished video looks at home no matter where you decide to post it.
The app has intuitive tools for adjusting the color and audio of your video project. One of our favorite features is one-click auto-duck audio mixing, which does not add quacking noises but rather automatically adjusts the volume of background music during voice-overs. To find this feature, tap on the audio button in the menu bar along the bottom of the app, and then tap on Auto Duck.
If you’re not sure how to enhance the color in your videos, tap on the color button in the menu bar to check out some presets. Once you have a feel for how changing the saturation, temperature, and exposure can affect the look of your footage, you can experiment with your own custom presets and save the ones you like.
Built-in templates give you hundreds of font and color options to add details like the name of your social media account or a title for your video.
Premiere Rush is available on iPhone, iPad, and Mac. And with an Adobe Creative Cloud subscription, you can start and finish projects across your devices.
Once your latest masterpiece is finished, tap the export button in the upper right corner (it looks like an upward-facing arrow) to upload directly to YouTube or social media. Then get ready for everyone to wonder how you made it look so slick.
