Like a good Rebel soldier, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes never stops fighting. Already leveled up, defended territories, and defeated countless foes? A new challenge awaits.

For the first time in the mobile galaxy’s biggest Star Wars game, you can test your mettle against players with similar collections in weeklong tournaments. Swipe to the left side of the main cantina hub to find a previously empty holotable now filled with the Grand Arena.

Your new holotable is waiting.

The mode plays like a more personal Territory War: Eight players are grouped based on their Galactic Power rating and duke it out over the course of a week. Competitors set defenses and use their remaining squads to attack. Win or lose, everyone moves on to a second round, followed by a third. At the end of a week, your win record determines your placing—and the awesomeness of your reward.

A few smart enhancements ensure you won’t be left out in the coldness of space between rounds. Forget to set defenses between matches? The game will auto-deploy for you. It’s like having your own personal setup droid, minus the attitude.

Since it’s not connected to your guild, Grand Arena is a great way to test out new squads without the pressure of letting down your pals. Finally upgraded your Ewoks high enough to hold the line? Toss them in as a defensive unit and see how they fare. Even if Wicket and company get wiped out, your padawan move won’t hurt your teammates—and will give you a good sense of how they perform against similarly ranked players.

The best offense is a good defense. Make your opponent think twice about which squads to attack.

And don’t stress about being overmatched. The number of defensive squads you can set is determined by the player with the lowest Galactic Power in the group. Every player has a shot at winning. (“Never tell me the odds!”)

The Grand Arena update brings tons of other tweaks, including cool character portraits and the long-requested ability to alter the reset time for activities to better match your schedule. Whether you play daily or check in a few times per week, Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes is fueled up and ready for transport.
