Storm Boy

A boy and his pet pelican

View

Can pelicans play fetch? You bet they can—if they’re as clever as Mr. Percival.

Storm Boy is an interactive adaptation of author Colin Thiele’s 1964 novel of the same name, a classic in its native Australia. You guide the game’s hero—the good-natured Storm Boy—along a wild, windswept stretch of coastland.

Storm Boy’s beautiful scenes look like they were pulled straight from the book.

When he discovers a trio of abandoned pelican chicks, he takes them home and cares for them. His father eventually demands the pelicans be returned to the sanctuary, but one—the cagey Mr. Percival—finds his way back. And with that, an unbreakable bond is formed between boy and bird.

Coastal sea life is just a few swipes away.

With gorgeous animation and an orchestral score, Storm Boy’s soulful tale unfolds like a children’s book come to life. Adorable, stress-free mini-games peppered throughout the story let readers see the world through the boy’s curious eyes.

Simply tap or swipe to swim underwater and explore breathtaking marine life or to slide down an endless sand dune. Playing fetch with Mr. Percival—and seeing him waddle after a ball and return it—is its own joy.

Storm Boy tells a timeless, heartwarming tale.

You don’t have to be familiar with Thiele’s award-winning book to be moved by Storm Boy—the ending will tug at pretty much anyone’s heartstrings. But once you’re done, you can go back and revisit your favorite chapters or replay the mini-games in any order. Mr. Percival is always up for a little more fun.
