ToothFairy connects with a click.

Quick Bluetooth connections

You can pair your AirPods, Powerbeats Pro, and many other Bluetooth headphones with your Mac, iPhone, and iPad simultaneously. But once they’re paired, switching the active audio connection from one device to another usually requires heading into settings.

ToothFairy lets you do it with a single click or tap.

After you pair your headphones with your Mac, ToothFairy puts an icon in your Mac’s menu bar that you can click to make your Mac your headphones’ audio source.

ToothFairy’s menubar icon conveniently shows your headphones’ battery status at a glance. Hover over it to see additional details.

Though ToothFairy is simple to use, it will appeal to power users, too. If you have multiple headphones and Bluetooth speakers, add a menu bar icon for each, then assign a keyboard shortcut to connect and disconnect even faster. You can also force macOS to use higher-quality audio (the tradeoff being that you won’t be able to use your headphone’s built-in mic; you'll have to use the one built into your Mac instead).

Your Mac can even run a script when a particular device connects. For example, you might want to automatically queue up a playlist whenever you connect your Powerbeats Pro to your Mac.

If you remember the old days of Bluetooth headphones, ToothFairy may feel like magic. But it’s no myth.

Note: When you pair your AirPods or recent Beats headphones with your Mac, iPhone, or iPad, the headphones automatically pair with all other devices signed in to the same iCloud account. For other headphones, you likely need to pair with each device individually.
