Fun learning for curious kids

Want to teach your kids about the moon? Ancient civilizations? Cool creepy insects? Open up MarcoPolo World School and let them dive right in.

World School is a STEAM-oriented app for kids ages 3 to 7, which means it’s focused on STEM topics plus the arts.

Mixing short-form video, activities, and games, it’s set up (if you’re a parent) to offer customizable learning paths for early learners and (if you’re a kid) to show you awesome science and animal life.

This adorable tugboat is actually a really good teacher.

The PhD-designed curriculum covers astronomy, climate, physics, and more—all delivered in a cute mix of real footage and animation.

To get started, enroll your student with their name and birth date. From there, kids can pick from eight subjects: literacy, math, science, tech, art, animals, food, and vehicles. Each subject contains a menu of videos—kids tap to watch, then play a short game based on what they saw.

The app features more than 400 video lessons and 3,000 games. New content is added every week.

If only your home playroom could stay this organized.

With so much to explore, World School can feel pretty big. Luckily, the app has a neat solution: Kids can tap a heart icon to let parents know they loved a particular lesson; doing so will send an email notification to Mom or Dad. And parents can track their child’s progress, either in the app or via email updates.

World School helps parents with the often tricky “What did you learn?” question by including a feature called Let’s Talk. When kids tap that heart icon, Let’s Talk provides two questions and a fact that parents can use to facilitate discussions about tornadoes, icebergs, or life on the savanna.

There’s a seven-day free trial before a subscription is required. But with so much to offer, it’s a safe bet that your kids will be tapping a lot of heart icons.
