RAID: Shadow Legends
RPG Fantasy & Live PvP Arena
RAID: Shadow Legends opens with a familiar scene: Four heroes bravely stand before a fire-breathing dragon. But before the quartet can put a dent in the beast, the first champion is scooped into the monster’s toothy maw, while the remaining three are barbecued.
Amusing and subversive, the setup serves as a warning to any players entering this role-playing game’s turn-based encounters unprepared. Take RAID lightly and you too may become a dragon snack.
Good thing there are so many heroes to unlock. Dark Elves, Lizardmen, Orcs, Barbarians, Knights, and Undead are just a few of the factions ready to contribute to your world-saving cause. Each recruit has unique powers and skills, ensuring you’ll never fight a foe the same way twice. Upgrade these abilities with magic tomes, and equip sets of shiny artifacts for significant stat boosts.
But don’t get too attached: RAID's character system lets you level up champions by ditching less worthy ones. Sacrifice up to six low-level characters to make your best recruits even stronger.
It feels great transforming underachieving champions into double-digit level boosts for your preferred warriors, but be careful who or what you sacrifice. That fragile High Elf archer may possess the sniping skills needed to put the biggest of Orc bosses in their place.
Building your army is just the beginning of the fight. Whether you’re tackling story missions, exploring loot-filled dungeons, or taking on other players online, RAID’s challenging combat gets quite cerebral. Did you bring the right balance of offensive and defensive powers to the fight? How can you better maximize your squad?
Ignore RAID’s strategic side at your own peril. That dragon still looks hungry.
