Ever feel like you’re in a musical rut, listening to the same tunes over and over? With the expansive and exploratory app NTS Radio, you’ll never be stuck again.
Open the app and you’re launched into Live mode, based on NTS’s origins as a community-based radio station in London (with satellite stations in Los Angeles and Shanghai).
But that’s only part of the story: NTS has contributing DJs all over the world, and the live broadcast is split into two channels; both offer a variety of shows that never end and bring all genres into the mix in hourly segments.
The Discover area is where your personal music journey can really take off. Playlist after playlist presents mixes specially curated by DJs, record labels, festival producers, and musicians.
Mixes are tagged by genre, both familiar and far-out: from soft rock and synth pop to cosmic disco and musique concrete.
And it gets even funkier: For an instant path to endless listening, NTS has a Mixtapes feature that offers up streams suitable for different situations (Poolside, anyone?).
In every instance, NTS lists the people behind the scenes who collected the music, so hearing new tunes is not only a pleasure but also an education in how to find more of your new favorites.
