Hipcamp: Camping, RVs & Cabins
Book your perfect campsite.
As you probably know, quite a few apps can help you find a room for the night.
But what if you’d rather be outside under the stars?
That’s where Hipcamp comes in. The app is a booking service for the outdoors that lets you score camping experiences at nearly 300,000 locations.
These can be public campsites or state or national parks, and the app is full of big-ticket suggestions for sought-after spots such as Yosemite National Park, Big Sur, Joshua Tree, and the Great Smoky Mountains. But if the marquee sites are full—or if you’re looking for something a little more remote—Hipcamp lists plenty of private camping locations in backyards and at beaches.
Using Hipcamp is just like booking a hotel room—pick your dates and place and choose a few filters. Hipcamp will come back with local results and you can pick specific criteria, such as tent sites, RV hookups, or glamping areas (some with full beds and mattresses).
Each listing will tell you what you need to bring, what the parking situation is, and necessary info about campfires, toilets, and pets. Scroll down to investigate the terrain and learn more about nearby activities, from fishing and hiking to surfing and wildlife watching.
Hipcamp users can even combine their stays with experiences: Learn how you can taste homemade maple syrup, explore farms and flower fields, go on a meditation retreat, or spend time with horses. Some bookings even include cabins, tiny houses, and yurts.
The interface couldn’t be simpler, and the experience will be entirely familiar if you’ve ever booked a room anywhere. The outdoors is calling—all you need to do is answer.
